This week's installment of Looking UP
Be sure and take advantage of these videos if you are worshipping at home.
We will meet at the building THIS coming Sunday June 28th at 10:25 for worship assembly.
It was good to see everyone this week and as long as conditions allow, we will continue to meet on Sunday mornings at 10:25 AM.
The same guidelines will still apply. Please read and follow these guidelines as they are in place to help protect each other from potentially getting the virus. We know it is possible to have the virus and not know it and also to prevent the accidental spread of the virus. So please let’s be very careful in these early stages of going back to church.
We anticipate that we will continue to meet on Sunday mornings at 10:25 AM unless there is a huge increase in Covid-19 cases in our area. We continue to monitor the situation and will adjust as necessary.
The Elders are monitoring the situation on a ongoing basis and will advise you of any changes to the schedule of services as soon as we can.
- We began the TEEN BIBLE class at the building this afternoon studying in the book of Ezekial. Make sure you pick up a copy of the study materials available in the foyer. All teens are invited to come and bonus: the parents of teens are welcome to come and sit in on the class. This is a live class taught by one of our shepherds, Tim Johnson. The Teen Bible Class will meet again next Sunday afternoon at 3 PM.
- Also... we are planning to install an air ionization system in the building air conditioning systems and new type of air filtration filters in the very near future. This will purify the air in the building and effectively destroy mold, mildew, bacteria, viruses, odors, volatile organic compounds (VOCs and mVOCs) and the odors associated with them.
NOTE: We have not detected any mold, mildew, bacteria, viruses, odors, or volatile organic compounds in the building but this system will help prevent any of these in our building environment.
That being said, we will continue to enforce the social distancing and mask guildelines as previously published.
It is imperative that we all comply with wearing our masks in the building.
We know it is inconvenient,
we know it is uncomfortable.
Let’s continue to practice social distancing and wear our masks.
Our Sunday AM service will be a little different than we are used to but every effort has been made to maintain decency and order of our services.
In planning our return to assembly there are quite a few things we need to observe with regard to social distancing and our worship and so we have made this set of guidelines to follow. We need everyone’s cooperation with these guidelines to help keep everyone safe from the potential spread of Covid-19. The auditorium, foyer and restrooms will be cleaned on Saturdays before Sunday services. All surfaces, pews, door handles, etc will have been disinfected and wiped down prior to us entering the building on Sunday morning. Call Tim Johnson before entering the building on Saturday.
BEFORE YOU COME TO THE BUILDING:
If you are sick, please do not come to assembly, just stay home and view Zeke’s sermon video from our website www.eastsidebaytown.org
If you have been exposed to the virus in the last ten (10) days even if you have not tested positive or have any symptoms please do not come to assembly
Self check your temperature before you leave the house and If you are running a fever, do not come to assembly
Please wash your hands with soap before coming to church
Hand sanitizer is available in the foyer
Bring your own bottled water, the water fountains will be covered and are not to be used. This is to remove a potential point of contact
We will continue to record sermon videos and bible class videos for those that cannot come back to the assembly yet.
WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE BUILDING
Please enter through the main foyer doors, The classroom entrance will remain locked.
We are requiring everyone school age and above to wear a mask in the building.
You may use your homemade mask or N95 but you must cover your nose and mouth
Please put on your mask before you enter the building. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you.
Refrain from shaking hands or hugging folks. We are all God’s children. It’s been awhile since we have seen everybody. We know we love one another, leave it at that for now. A smile and a wave will suffice.
We will not have Bible classes--- Yet. We are thinking of our children’s safety here too. More to come on this.
We will not have afternoon 5pm service>>> Yet.
Communion will be available for you to pick up as you enter the auditorium
Pre-packaged Communion cup and bread will be placed in a zip lock bag for you to pick up on your way into the auditorium.
It is very important for you to remember to pick up communion before you go in to the auditorium
The utmost care is being done in the preparation of the communion emblems.
After we have taken communion together, place the empty cup back in the ziplock bag and throw it in the trash on your way out of the auditorium.
There will not be any trays passed down the rows, only one man to preside over the Lord’s Supper Table.
The Offering will be collected in a collection box between the back doors as you exit the auditorium
Seating in the auditorium:
A deacon may assist you to your seat.
We will be seated 6 foot apart and skip every other row.
Family groups may sit together
We apologize in advance if you are not able to sit where you usually sit
- Please practice social distancing in the pews by allowing 6 feet between persons
Please remain seated where you have been placed. Remember we are trying to limit the potential exposure to the virus.
AFTER THE SERVICE IS OVER
Please exit the building in an orderly manner,
Do not linger in the auditorium or the foyer to visit.
Remember we are trying to limit potential exposure to the virus.
The order of worship is set. With only a couple exceptions your shepherds are leading the worship this Sunday.
Door Greeters - If you are asked to be a door greeter. You will be provided with gloves and you will open and hold the door for people entering the building.
The doors will be open at 10:10 am
Services will start at 10:25 am
We know this is a lot to process. As we said before We need everyone’s cooperation with these guidelines to help keep everyone safe from the potential spread of Covid-19.
We look forward to seeing you Sunday!
The Shepherds at Eastside,
Jim Zaruba, Joe Scarborough, Tim Johnson, Ed Aiken
